Dr Lennert Veerman leads the Burden of Disease and Cost-Effectiveness unit at the University of Queensland’s School of Public Health and is Program Director of the Master of Public Health. He is a Dutch-trained public health physician with passion for healthy physical, economic, social and natural environments. He gives direction to a programme of work in the area of physical activity, diet, and body mass. One of his current interests is the potential health and economic impact of taxing sugared drinks in countries around the world.
