Kieron B. Rooney

Kieron is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and member of the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney. The primary focus of his research is on the role of diet and physical activity in the metabolic regulation of how we store, release and utilise energy at rest and during exercise. His research portfolio includes both human and small animal studies of healthy and dysregulated metabolic states such as obesity and impaired glucose tolerance. In recent years, Kieron has utilised this understanding from a basic science perspective to inform, raise awareness and develop public health advocacy surrounding the regulation of sugar sweetened foods and beverages.
