A/Professor Huang is a cardiovascular researcher from a clinical background of medicine and paediatrics. She has been a clinical researcher in the area of early origins of obesity and metabolic risk for the last 10 years (at the University of Western Australia and Telethon Kids Institute). She holds a NHMRC Early Career Clinical fellowship. A/Prof Huang has received grant funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council, National Heart Foundation, Pfizer, Telethon Perth Children’s Research Fund, Women’s and Infants Research Foundation and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Her main current projects are investigating the role of epigenetics in relation to obesity and related conditions across two generations and pregnancy randomised controlled trials aiming to modulate offspring obesity. She has worked as a paediatric consultant in the paediatric obesity clinic in the department of Endocrinology at Princess Margaret Hospital since 2010.
