Michael D Kendig

Dr Mike Kendig is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Senior Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Dr Kendig’s overarching research interest is in the relationship between dietary habits, cognitive function and the microbiome. In particular, Mike is interested in the cognitive effects of ultra-processed foods high in fat, sugar and salt. Dr Kendig studies the impact of diet on brain and behaviour in translationally-relevant animal models and in people with a network of interdisciplinary collaborators spanning psychology, medicine, microbiology and health. Mike’s work has been funded by the Australian Research Council and the NARSAD Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.
