Chris Hayes
Dr Hayes is a specialist pain medicine physician with a background in anaesthesia. He has been director of Hunter Integrated Pain Service (HIPS) since its foundation in 1997. He is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and co-chair of the Agency for Clinical Innovation’s NSW Pain Network.
His clinical and research interests focus on a “whole person” approach in pain medicine, the process of clinical redesign and outcome measurement. He and the team at HIPS have a focus on development of online educational material and the use of social media to influence community understanding of pain.
