Karen Waters
Prof. Waters is a conjoint Professor at the University of Sydney and holds a 0.7 FTE Senior Staff Specialist appointment position at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she is Head of Sleep Medicine. This service provides a Sleep Unit diagnostic and treatment facility, with outpatient services to children who require respiratory support (oxygen, CPAP and ventilation) in the community.
Prof Waters’ trained in sleep medicine in Australia and Canada and supervises both clinical and basic science studies. These have received support from the NH&MRC and NIH as well as from other Australian funding agencies. Her body of scientific work has led to invited talks at International conferences including the American Thoracic Society, International Paediatic Sleep Association, and The American Associated Sleep Societies.
